Artificial vocal fold
The voice is known to be generated as a self-sustained oscillation of vocal folds with airflow from a lung, and it has been studied from many aspects of researches. The sound generation mechanisms of vocal folds and vocal tracts have been also investigated by using artificial vocal fold replicas. In this study, properties of the sound generation in the reed-type artificial vocal fold developed by Prof. Arai of Sophia University are examined by the fluid-structure-acoustic interaction simulation.
